...has anyone done it ?

dp has used up all his holiday for this year but i really, really want to go camping so am thinking of taking dd down to cornwall (where i'm from) for a week or so under the stars, just the two of us.

i'm hoping for sunshine, beaches, farm animals and cornish ice cream and thinking of hiring a caravan, yurt or similar rather than a tent (as carrying tent, belongings and baby in papoose is not going to be easy, and we will be relying on friends and families for lifts as i don't drive.)

hoping to get a few nights here.

am i mad to consider it alone with a bub ? we co-sleep already so sleeping arrangements won't be too much of a struggle and if i want to stay up past her bedtime with a glass of cold cider a good book most places can arrange a travel cot i think.

any tips on holidaying alone with a small one ?

thanks longisland will let you know how it goes - i have flown to cornwall with dd before and we had a lovely time visiting family. we used to go for cream teas and walks in the country - just the two of us - and she was a joy on the plane, amazingly.

Yes do let me know. Am really crap at attempting things alone. Normally rope my mum in but maybe I should get the guts up and try something like this. you have inspired me :)
