Featherdown Farms - worth the £££ and anything else similar?

DD wants to go camping for her 4th birthday. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue, but I'll be 6 months pregnant and know that I won't be very comfortable without access to a loo throughout the night.

Think I'd be ok with one of those loos which I can have in tent, or even a bucket if it didn't make so much noise Grin. But DH isn't having any of it and thinks Featherdown sounds like best option.

Thing is, I've heard Featherdown is a bit of a rip-off and wondered firstly, is it worth the money?
And secondly, is there anything else like it? Our basic requirements are a toilet for me in the night and other children around for DD. Animals aren't essential, especially as I'm orniphobic.

Okay.
Just found out that they're all booked up for the bank holiday weekend.
Any suggestions as to where else we could go?

Cuckoo Farm Yurts near Ottery St Mary are fab. They have wood burners, comfy beds, a separate kitchen are and a shed with a compost loo - clean, non smelly. ooh and a campfire. owners are lovely. it's a huge field with three yurts - all of them have the facilities I mentioned, so no sharing.

Thanks Sphil.
the yurts do look lovely. Unfortunately, they're all booked up for the weekend we want Sad

Anyhow, have done a Mnet search and found out that if you put a nappy inside a bucket, not only will it mask the noise, but will absorb the wee.
Soooooo, think we're going to camp as usual, and invest in bucket with lid and a few nappies for me Grin

BTW - We were thinking of going to Swanage (or anywhere close-ish to London, near a lovely beach) and wondered if anyone could recommend a site for tents?

'Tom's Field' near Swanage is nice.It has good loo's and showers and a little shop. .Plus there are a couple of pubs in walking distance.

Thanks Mumcah.
Looked at Tom's Field, but think you ccan't prebook or only open in August ... anyway, some such reason which meant that it wasn't okay for us.

Have booked into South Lytchett Manor - more Poole than Swanage, but sounds very nice with v clean toilets! And, they have chickens that DD will be able to feed, collect eggs from.

You can get small chemical loos for really not very much money these days you know! My dad got me one when they were in Aldi for about £30. He was worried about me going off to a festival five weeks after giving birth, bless him. Didn't actually use it but it was good to have as a backup :)

If you want to be really posh you can take a whole separate little tent so you can sit in state :)
