Is it worth buying a footprint groundsheet?

Thinking about buying a footprint for my Montana 6. We only go camping couple of times a year so wondered if they really are worth having?

We have one for our Khyam Winnipeg. It gives you a guideline to peg out to, protects the sewn in ground-sheet and another layer of insulation.

Best thig, if it's wet ground, the tent stays clean and only the groundsheet needs cleaning :)

(I would like one for out Wynnster satellite 12, but it is too huge and would stop the pegs needed in the internal bedrooms.)

Yes :)

Note that some camp sites do not permit non-breathable footprint groundsheets.

we bought our first tent last year, and also bought the footprint, i was very impressed, when the grass was wet,the tent stayed totally dry, meaning we didnt have to put it up to air etc after our trip,it also made it really easy to put up as you can see where to peg it down easier:)

They're great. We don't have enough space at home to dry and clean our tent, but we can do the footprint.
We've been lucky so far that we've always packed up in good weather so the top of the tent is dry, we give the bottom of the tent a quick wipe and dry as we pack it up, the the footprint gets folded and put in a plastic bag.
Once we're home we can take the footprint out, hang it over the balcony of the deck give it a good clean and leave it to dry. We don't even have to do it straight away because it's not going to harm, we can wait for a decent day to give it a good wash down.

Totally. You know that miserable half hour of wiping mud off the ZIG/SIG when you're packing the tent down (always my job)? forget that, just roll up the footprint and go.
