We're just starting out with the camping and did a weekend trip to Betws-y-coed last summer. Basically just to check we could erect the tent!

We stayed here: www.llwynonnguesthouse.co.uk/

It was quiet, even though there's a road nearby. has a small pool that you can use. The toilet facilities are basic but I've holidayed on canalboats so I found them more than adequate. A bit windy but we managed and the tent stayed up. We've a 9 person tent and he was able to accommodate us but I think the key is to book in.

We have toddlers and went to a theme park for toddlers that was about 50mins away. Great day out for them. Also got the train down to the slate mines.

The Forest Holidays site at Beddgelert is lovely, we are going there again at Easter.

Also there is a nice site on the shores of lake Bala called Glanllyn which is nice.
