Has anyone been to camping la bonne etoile? Looking to rent a mobile on a campsite on south end of the island. This one looks good and very reasonable.

We stayed at Camping Interlude last august, and found it far too big and busy for our liking. Can't comment on the site you are looking at, be warned that Ile de Re does get v busy in the summer. It is beautiful though.

We also stayed at Interlude but was late June/early July and not too busy. French school holiday started 1st July so became busier after that. Lots of campsites around- don't know the one you want, sorry. This was on the beach and an easy cycle into St Martin. We will go back, but have decided to fly into La Rochelle and taxi to the island. Don't need a car, just hire bikes :)

We're booked to stay at La Graintetiere at the end of July. Never been before though, so hoping it's ok! www.la-grainetiere.com/

Thank you for advice - have gone ahead and booked le bonne etoile at le bois en plage - great bargain and the site looks lovely. ?617 for 2 weeks in a 2 bed mobile home incl. towels, sheets, BBQ and bikes for kids (3) , parents bikes are free. Going for 1st 2 weeks in June. Being very furgal and getting bus from La Rochelle airport. (flights ?340 from Dublin) Beat that!!

Le bois en plage is the best beach on the island - I'm sure you'll have a great time.
