Forest Holidays sites Forest of Dean

Has anyone stayed at one of these?

Planning on meeting up with some old uni friends and their families for a camping weekend in May. The site needs to be in a central point to where we all live now, which includes the south coast, the midlands and Wales. We have children (all under 8) and dogs.

I have stayed at the Forest Holidays site in Beddgelert and loved it. Are the ones in the Forest of Dean as good? Is one of the sites better than the other? Or do you have any other recommendations equidistant from where we live?

camping.forestholidays.co.uk/camping_and_caravanning/our_sites__locations/england-1/forest_of_dean/christchurch.aspx this is where we went I can fully recommend it is was a brilliant holiday and a wonderful place to visit. They have loads of facilities so it depends whether you want this. I notice the price has increased though since we went. There is plenty for children to do and they did have a childrens play area when we went.

Thanks Bella, that is the one that we were looking at. The play area is a big plus as it keeps the children occupied while we adults drink wine catch up with each other's news. When we went to Beddgelert the children spent hours in the play area and just exploring the forest.

Having been to both I think they are very comparable. Christchurch is more open than Beddgelert and flatter but still very nice. We've been there twice and not left the campsite (Ds off playing whilst I chill reading!).
