Overnighting in a hotel en route to French campsite

My friend and her family (DH & 3 DSs) are travelling through France from the Channel Tunnel in Calais to a campsite on the south west coast near La Palmyre.

They will be loaded up with a trailer etc and want to overnight in a hotel on their way there.

They are struggling to find somewhere on the internet which suits the bill. Has anyone any suggestions for them please? Two of the 3 boys are 4-year-old twins so the whole family would fit nicely into a family room. Ideally they want somewhere just off the A10 but any suggestions would be welcome.

Thank you!

We travelled a similar route last year on our way to southern Charente. We stopped in a hotel between Le Mans and Tours, in a small town called La Chartre sur le Loir, and in the Logis Hotel de France. We booked both the family rooms between eight of us - one of these had two double beds, the other had a double and three singles (so would suit your friend's family). The rooms were quite basic but pleasant. They wouldn't give us breakfast as we didn't have an evening meal (seemed odd but never mind) but we had a lovely breakfast from the boulangerie opposite. The hotel may be a little off route, but as a basic stopover I thought it was fine.

We usually stay here and have been very happy with it. Last time was a couple of years ago, but reviews on tripadvisor still seem good.

This page should be some help :)

We stayed here en route to South West last year and would highly recommend it... www.lalunelake.co.uk.

Splash pool in garden, dinner with wine available in the evening and a lovely breakfast.

Owners were so welcoming.
