Normandy in our new camper van

Here's the thing ... our VW transporter in the workshop as we speak...

July 2011 - 3 weeks in France with a middle week in a nebulous relative's farmhouse near Le Mans.
Don't want too much driving for our first trip, coming into/out of Cherbourg. Was thinking Bayeux area way out and Granville/Mont St Michel way in.

Despite the campervan want to pitch up set up our stall and not have to pile in the van everytime we need to pop to the supermarket so would like to be within walking distance of a town/village.

Have a 1 & 3 year old so would like few swings & a pool but then a stroll to town or beach (or both!). Don't think the whole 300+ pitches or pre erected tent thing going to be our sort of site although I guess good for keeping kids busy.
Lez Eaux near Granville looks nice & consistently well rated but other than the site I think you would need to get in the van for anything else - not really what we want.

Nothing jumping out at me site wise from the reviews here and trawling the internet. Any personal recommendations???

Cheers
