Hello.

We are going Paris and Loire and then somewhere else - yet to be arranged

Hve some friends joining us in Loire
but they are then continuing on to Vendee area. I have told them of a few sites we have stayed at but they have different requirements to us.

Does anybody know of a campsite that fits this

1.Gorgeous
2.Near Beach
3.Nice pool with Slide
4.Within walking distance of small

village/town
5.Quiet at night - most definitely no
karaoke/loud music.
6.Suitable for various ages - they have a
14year old, 11 year old, 9 year old and
3 year old.

  1. Not full of Brits

Anybody - help please - My friend is driving me mad - and she hasn't got time to go on mumsnet or review sites !! - clearly she is busier than me Wink

thanks - K

Go to Le Bois Dormant with Siblu. Nice quiet site with great pool and facilities. They have a sister site over the road which has evening entertainment and kids clubs but obvs you dont have to use these. Its near a beach, just about walking distance from town although its not that picturesque I have to admit. Best bit is beach. You can drive to nice villages nearby though.

sorry she doesnt like siblu Biscuit

I have told her the mumsnet brigade will come up with some good suggestions - don't let me down Smile Katie

I am watching this with interest - i have the same requirements! Though northern Vendee would be better for me Grin

katiewins22 · 25/01/2011 09:26

Hi Millimat - you must be high maintenance too Wink

I don't know why I offered to help her - I have enough trouble sorting out my own travel plans. She sent me a text at 630 this morning saying "hi honey - have you found me anything yet?? - On the other hand - she is great fun (in small doses!) - Hope she doesn't read this Blush

Katiewins - do you have a site sorted for Paris? We want to do maybe 3 nights there (but not Eurodisney). Going to do 3 nights near Caen on the way down, then Vendee / Brittany area for the main part, then Paris on the way back to Calais. So anyone with suggestions - thank you! Wink

I thought I'd posted a long and detailed reply on this thread yesterday, but it's not showing up. Bloody phone!

Anyway, the gist of my post was les sables. It's right on a beach and is connected to a town and a large resort by a coastal cyclepath. It's a relatively small site but our teens loved it. We went with carisma. It's near the town of la chaume and the resort of les sables d'olonne.

If you need more info, just ask

Millimat - Staying Novotel Paris (was going to stay at Campsite but wanted a bit of comfort as going to be a hectic few days). Go on Novotel website - lots of v. reasonable rooms - good price.

AgentProvocateur - thanks I have have told her about the le sables site and she has been on website and seems suitably impressed. I hope she goes for it. Is it quiet at n

Just for future reference - is Les Sables nice? thanks K

There is a bar and an outside stage area that had discos some nights, and the teenagers hung out there. We couldn't hear the music from our decking, and everything was quiet by midnight.

The only drawback was the lack of restaurnat on site (although I believe the carry out was good), but we cycled into town for dinner every night.

There were loads and loads of lovely restaurants in the town, and very reasonably priced too - probably because there was so much competition.

I've been to le bois dormant but I didnt really like it, bit massive. We found this place near Sarzeau and loved it. Gorgeous little towns near Vannes which is a lovely city. Had the best holiday ever www.camping-sarzeau.com/

Sables Dolonne is a large ish resport type town. Nice but full of moped-boys :D

katiewins22 · 29/01/2011 00:15

Hi - Thanks for extra info. MY High maintenance friend is trying to book the camopsite at chaume (sables dolonne) although apparently she has looked at carisma and they are fully booked.

Skirt - camoping-sarzeau looks lovely - I will hold that in my file for future years!

Is Les Sables D'olonne really really windy??? I looked at a clip on one camping website and it looked it!! But I won't share that with my friend Grin I don't think her hair moves normally so it will be good for it to feel a sea breeze Wink

I am giving the wrong impression - she is absolutely lovely - just v.v.high maintenance -but at least she admits to it.

Thanks for all help with this, I can now get on with sorting my own hols. K
