campsite recommendations in dorset area?

We usually go to Cornwall, but this year we thought we'd try the dorset area. I don't have any idea where to go! I have heard that Beer (?) is very nice (although think that might be Devon....?)I did see Beer Head campsite on the UK camping website, but it doesn't take bookings, which, as this is our main holiday, is too much of a risk.
We are camping in a campervan with awning, 3 children aged 6, 4 and 2.
We'd like a site with a beach, if not in walking distance then just a short drive, somewhere with decent facilities would be good, however I am not into big sites with a bar, pool etc.
I would prefer somewhere that has a good local pub and shop in walking distance.
I would be grateful for any guidence...

It has to be Golden Cap.... ticks all your boxes!

We stayed at East Fleet Farm last year and really enjoyed it. Pub and shop on site, both are fantastic. Pub had good priced meals, kids welcome and shop had everything you could want and more camp stuff than lots of camping shops have!
We stayed in the top field, away as quieter and better views, but easy to get to play area on other side of site.
Short drive to Weymouth and lots of parking there.
Would recommend

We went to a lovely farm site in Up Lyme

Hook Farm

Lovely walk down into Lyme Regis, nice beaches within short drive and very family friendly site.

We stayed at a lovely site in sixpenny handly, it's on the uk campsite list and although it sounds big as it has a cafe, it's a really nice farm site. The beach at sandbanks (?) is the best I have been to in the uk, it was a boiling hot day and with the sand almost white it's like the caribbean! The ice-cream boat was a big hit for us too!

Another one for Durdle Door - brilliant.

I can recommend Alpine Grove. Set amongst trees, very relaxed, nice loos and showers, very family friendly, can hire fire pits, small swimming pool, half hour to coast- close to Lyme Regis, Beer etc. Also the flight museum at Yeovilton (sp?) was a good day out.
