I need a new tent for this year.

What's the latest on good, large tents with lots of headroom?

decathlon do a great range of 'pop up' tents. They sping to life in minutes. We've got a family one - two beds and small central zone to stand up in which cost about £100 quid.

According to the UKCampsite website, 2011 prices are going to be significantly higher, so many are buying 2010 models while they can. :)

Sad about your tent and trampoline Hobbgoblin!

Can't you get another Outwell? We got a new tent at the end of last year and it was an Outwell Hartford XL and is lovely (tho' bit of a problem with shock cords snapping).

I have to ask! How did you leave it in a house in France?? :( on your behalf

Vangos are good and similar to Outwell. Ebay worked for me...

Have you got a budget in mind?

This month's camping and caravan magazine has just reviewed the new OUtwell Hawaii (polycotton) which looks fairy huge and rather snazzy if a little too orange for my taste.

It's £1000 so not cheap.

sethstarkaddersmum · 08/01/2011 11:02

orange? are we back in the 70s again?

LadyBubbaAndBump · 08/01/2011 11:08

:o @ fairy huge

Mmmmh - we had an orange and brown tent when we were kiddies - along with orange and brown curtains over fake windows. Nice.

mollymole · 08/01/2011 11:31

try go outdoors - they do their own versions of the outwell tents at less than 1/2 the price and they are very good - used 1 last year in really foul weather and it was excellent -

Lol at the fairy tent. It woul be a veritable plane hangar for a fairy.

Interestingly in the review it does say how much it is like the orange and brown frame tents of the past. Nice bit of nostalgia, we had one too Grin
