Very excited just bought a new tent, the outwell hartford XL. We have been lusting over this all last summer and treated ourselves with xmas money! Now can't wait to go away! Thinking easter will be the earliest!

We bought a Sunncamp Mercury 1000 last year. We used it for a long weekend in the summer holidays and loved every minute. This summer we're using it for our main holiday as we wouldn't be able to afford to go on holidy if it wasn't for our tent!
We're off to Argos tomorrow to buy more camping stuff as we had to borrow alot last year.

I've seen this on a few sites and it looks lovely (and huge) We've got a pretty big one- Outwell Michigan- and it looks much bigger.

Enjoy!!

Our friends have the Hartford XL and they love it, it is absolutely huge and great for a long family holiday. We have a similar style of tent but a bit smaller and its great for me, DH and DD. We have a smaller pop-up one from Decathlon for weekends as the big one is too much hassle to put up for a short trip.

Happy Camping!!! Grin

we have teh Hartford XL, and love it. Now 5 years old and still just as good as new.

we got one of those at the end of last season, had one trip with it, absolutely love it.
It is gorgeous and cosy and spacious and practical and easy to put up. The Gothic porch is rather smart too IMO.

the only problem we have had, which may be worth pre-warning you about, is that we have twice had shock-cords snap in poles, one when we were putting it up for practice and one on our first trip. So maybe take some spare bungee cord just in case.

tent arrived free delivery £315 from Taunton Leisure very impressed! Pleased as I can actually lift it! (unlike my sister who bought a bear lake from outwell - canvas). Now planning first trip - prob easter or next bank hol after - ummmmmmmmmmmm but where?!

are you going to put it up asap to check it is all there?
we took ours to the park because our garden wasn't big enough!

chickenlickin · 06/01/2011 14:35

yep was thinking that - just hope people don't think we are intending to camp there!

LOL. I was a touch self-conscious when we put ours up in the park - I informed several random people we weren't really going to camp there when they probably didn't even think we were.

where are you going to camp with it?

chickenlickin · 06/01/2011 18:38

We are going to use this as our main holiday for us - so wherever and whenever! we really enjoyed The River Dart country park last year. I love Burrow Hayes in Porlock as went there ever year as a child! The New Forest as we live not far from there. Where do you recommend?

Burrowhayes is my favourite too! We also went every year when I was young, it was paradise for a pony-mad child. We are planning to get down there this year but haven't decided if we will try for Easter or half-term. I suppose we'd better start doing some planning soon and get booked up.Smile
