Group 1 Car Seat in Camper Van?

Hi,

Am hoping somebody can help me :-) We have a converted VW T5. DS rides up front in his rear facing Maxi Cosi Cabriofix (airbag off) at the moment but he has almost outgrown this now.

We went to Mothercare to see if we could get a Group 1 seat for the rear of the van (the seat is a crash tested RIB double seat with 3 point lap belts) but none of the Maxi Cosi seats fitted, only the Britax Eclipse (and it wasn't a very good fit). There are various issues like the spongyness of the seats and belt buckles eetc.

Does anybody else have a campervan with a Group 1 seat in the back and what seat is it?

Thanks so much
R :)

We used a Britax 1st class in the back of our motorhome with no problems but we do have wide seats.

Have you thought about a high-back booster with a 5 point harness? This would only be forward facing but may be more suitable for the spongy seats.

Thanks ladies, I asked on Brick Yard and turns out one of them got a really good fit with a MC Tobi (whcih Mothercare had said was no use) so we went to Halfords, the guy fitted it and it looked very solid to me and he said it was an excellent fit ho hum!!
