What camping accessory as gift for man with a (camper) van?

I want to get my workmate something nice as a goodbye gift. He and his wife are running away to another country with their new campervan so was thinking of some sort of camping related item. Any ideas? What is a must have cheap but fab camping accessory that would appeal to a 40ish year old bloke? I wanted to spend about a tenner.

I can only think swiss army knife type thing?

You can get some quite good ones like the 'Victorinox 1370300 Army Knife Climber' on Amazon for about £15 - a little over your budget.

That cookbook looks great, sixtyfootdoll. Thanks everyone. Like the knife and card ideas too, though not certain he's a card playing person (how would one know?!).

a Forge Steel mallet

even in a camper van a man should have a mallet

lol ginsling! I think a mallet would be a present both hilarious and useful but think he would be a bit surprised!

Suprised and yet secretly delighted.

Do you think? I'm really not sure! He's a sweetie and I do want to get him a little something but he is kind of a workfriend rather than bosom buddy and I think he might think it's a bit of an odd gift! Are there lots of uses for mallets in a camper van? I would definitely go for it if he was needing to put up tents etc but I think they're planning to stick to the van pretty much.

Bought my hubby a little tool box for our campervan as he loves to tinker about fixing things.

Camping spirit levels are always good as it's a pain when your van is on an angle.

Whistling kettle - all good vans should have one

Nice mugs or unbreakable glasses?

A wind up torch for popping to the facilities at night, that way you don't need spare batteries . Or as someone said before the tool kit ( ikea do a good compact one ,that we have in our van) or a mallet ,for your awning/ groundsheets.
