It's the time to start thinking about our next Eurocamp holiday next June and where best to go. Our dd will be 5 then and thinking of going to La Grande Metairie but would really apprciate some opinions if you have been there before. We will be going in a tent.

Also we usually drive to whatever site we go to from Calais but thinking that next year we might save ourselves the long car journey. We are in Kent so Dover is easy but wondering whether to try Portsmouth to St. Malo. Not sure if any of the other options are any good but don't want to drive to PLymouth so thats out.

Any advice?

we always went via st malo to minimise driving but we are near to portsmouth. its the most expensive crossing as you need a cabin - overnight on way out. caen or cherbourg might also be possibilities - i seem to think that the roads from caen are better and that the cherbourg road is slow - i'd ask eurocamp as they should know. been to grane metairie 3 times out of school summer holidays and always had good holidays (we've been lucky with the pitches). its a great area - men du beach is beautiful

We haven't stayed there, but we have stayed in Carnac. We drove from Calais (our nearest port) - eurotunnel is sooooo much quicker - and then drove. Probably 7-8 hours driving?
