Haven Haggerston Castle in Northumberland

Has anybody been? The reviews on it are truly dire but its in the perfect position for where we would like to go - taking 2 DC in our own touring caravan. But please be honest - would I hate it?!

Been a few times and vowed never to go again after the visit 2 years ago however went in June for a long weekend and it was ok they've made some improvements and now have a warden on the touring park.If you like a quiet site though its not for you.

Will our van get damaged by huge potholes? Thats my main concern!!!

We went a couple of years ago and hated it, sorry.

The site was pretty boring, no play park except the one at the main compound - to get to it you had to through the tacky restaurant/slot machine/entertainment area. The whole place looked like it needed a good scrubbing. It was (and I hate to use this word, but it really fits) chav central.

I would not advise it. Unless you just want a place to park the van while you go out for the day.

Isn't there another caravan park just up the road towards Berwick?

Thanks mmeLindt TBH I wanted an honest response. The only reason it was what we were looking for is that we are going at half term, and beacuse nights go dark so early, and there is the potential for it to be really cold, we were looking for somewhere with lots of facilities. Usually the only thing i want is a plot with hook up and a playground of some sort to keep DC occupied!!
