Camping on site on Dordogne August does it ever flood?

Hi we are planning to camp in France 2011. Looking at sites on banks of Dordogne. Some lovely right on river-bank.
Does anyone know if it ever floods?
Am type to be awake at night worrying if heavy rain.

We live in the Dordogne valley; one of the tributaries - the Ceou flooded this summer, but in general the campsites near the Dordogne river itself seem fine as they are significantly higher up.
