I am looking into starting a holiday park/campsite with my hubby and we are trying to get a feel for the market, particularly for families - if you can spare a couple of minutes to fill out the survey by clicking on the link below I would be HUGELY gratefulSmile

done.

Have a look at Pencelli Castle for an outstanding toilet/shower block.

Good luck!

Hi
Have done too
But main thing for me is
Not too big site.
Most important warm hot showers, clean and well designed.
Good luck

The things that I personally look for on a campsite are:

Clean and well-maintained showers / toilets (I hate using showers and toilets on site but it is obviously a necessary evil - clean shower blocks certainly help)
Great children's play area
Friendly staff

Good location is always a bonus as is an on-site shop (selling basics) Smile

Done.
Hope you got it, my laptop is a pile o' poo.

Caro1302 · 18/09/2010 23:03

Done! Just sufficient showers and toilets which are big enough to take a reluctant small child in with you. That's the single most important thing for me.
Good luck!

I like a clean toilet area with showers that have more than a trickle and you can detach the shower head form the wll for chidlren to shower. A childrens bath room with a key to get from reception - so it is onyl for small chidlren

and a good play area in the back of the site and warn older peopel without chidlren not to park near

the funniest was a granma trying to tell all the chidlren int he play area to be quite - she had parked right next to the paly area - what did she except - its a big play area

it would have been better if they had moved

Good waste desposal for camoervans - easy drive though rather than trying to reverse into tiny space at right angles next to a high wall and beside tree

I look for site wiithout a bar, that ban large groups and have a noise curfew. Too many holidays have been spoilt by drunk noisy groups. We prefer the more basic, quieter sites and don't mind paying a premium for it.
