When can I book directly with French Campsites?

After a few years of keycamping I want to book directly with the campsite as so many of them have vans to rent, however, whenever I do a search on the websites it says that there is no availability.

Do French sites not take bookings until the New Year or have all the caravans been booked already?

I've tried this on a number of different sites and no luck anywhere

They probably haven't got their new booking system for next season up yet.

But why don't you phone them? Even if your French is limited they usually speak English.

I would be surprised if they are fully booked yet.

The one we have gone to most often starts taking bookings sometime in October, one they have closed for this year & dealt with any pre-bookings (Lots of people fill out pre-booking forms before they leave for the following year so some slots will already be taken but you should be able to get in)

It does depend on how popular the campsite is. I gave had no problems booking in January for some.

Direct booking is definitely worth it if you are not bothered about kids clubs, having a rep on site, etc

Great - thanks - will drop them an email.
I just want to see if it would work out cheaper booking everything seperately compared to through keycamp.
