Hi, I am going camping for the first time with my husband and 5 year old daughter. I've been camping as a child, but never as the responsible adult.

I'm not sure what to take to eat, we have a camp stove so I thought about making some soup and freezing it and we could have that on the first night. We'll take sandwiches and fruit etc for lunch. Do you have any other ideas?

Is there any other advice you could give me as a novice camper ? I need to make a list of things to take, what important little things might we need ?
I'm taking board games and wine to entertain ourselves while our daughter sleeps but that's as far as I've goy so far. Smile

Take (obviously), sleeping bags/duvets, airbeds and something to sit on. Plates, bowls, mugs, cutlery, chopping board, utensils, salt & pepper, washing up bowl & liquid, teatowels. Cool box and ice blocks. First aid kit, matches, lantern/torch. Suncream and waterproofs. Towels. Pack of cards, couple of books, mobile phone, camera. You've got the most important one though - wine. Enjoy.

When I say something to sit on, I mean chairs rather than a big pile of cushions ...

if you search here for camping list then there are many suggestions - ranging from the minimalist to the kitchen sink.

try to imagine what you would need at home and then simplify it Smile
