aw

never mind eh

You're not trying to book for the BH now are you?

We saw a bell tent in Bala that had pink flowery solar lights adorning it. I glared and flared my nostrils at it. The dds embraced it like some sort of christmans lights extraveganza "pleeeeeeeeeease can we go and look at the tent with the pretty lights, oh please please please mummy"

no

PfftTheMagicDragon · 19/08/2010 18:36

Well it is August...of course everywhere is booked up!

CerealOffender · 19/08/2010 18:37

snort! dd would love that. fortunately she can be fobbed off with tales of not wanting to attract midgies.

i gave up trying to book campsites this summer. now schools are back i am camping this weekend.

With the old camper can you not just pull off on a muddy track somewhere?

I was meant to be wild camping this w/e but dh has to sodding work. bums

CerealOffender · 19/08/2010 18:42

dh has become v. antsy about wild camping since having dd. i am not sure why

OP posts:
CerealOffender · 19/08/2010 18:42

how selfish of your dh!

I know! Some unreasonable excuse of new floor needing paying for [rolls eyes]

Surely in a van you are safe from wild scary camp intruders?

CerealOffender · 19/08/2010 20:38

how is the new floor!

It is totally fabulous (although anything would be fabulous after the concrete rubble we've been living on for the last couple of months).

I went for karndean in the end and have just finished Dim Glowing it (smearing some product that will help with scratches or something).

Slubberdegullion · 19/08/2010 23:10

oh my

i do apologise

That appears to be the dullest and most uninteresting post I have ever posted on mn. And you had to read it.

sorry

I'd join you StarLight, but I'm all crap weather and awful food ranted out.

You can have a moan here though. I'm sure Cereal wont mind (although she'll just tell you to buy a campervan)

SoMuchToBits · 19/08/2010 23:20

Campervan is great ....... so long as it is a Playmobil one! Wink

oh my friend has just got karndean it is BRILLIANT. i must tell her about dim summing it.

Slubberdegullion · 20/08/2010 09:42

If she has it (karndean) she will have done it Aitch. There are very specific instructions on stripping like this and then dim glowing like this with exact timings and everything.

all v technical.

Now I have a lovely dimly glowing floor.

Slubberdegullion · 20/08/2010 09:43

hi SoMuch Smile

CerealOffender · 20/08/2010 09:52

arf @ dim glowing, sounds like makeup product for a Z-list celeb.

you say that, but she mentioned that it hadn't been so much as mopped yet and it's been down a month.

i have pop up tents in a pod system. am i a cool camper or just a lazy arse?

I've got a site booked for BH. I haven't got bunting or fairy lights. Can I be excused?

(I did buy some green wine glasses to match the tent though).

bran · 20/08/2010 11:08

Ohh, the house we have just bought (and are moving to this weekend) has Karndean flooring. I almost mistook it for real wood, it doesn't feel like a laminate at all.

As for camping - bah humbug! I NEED a fancy-schmancy bathroom, it's not a holiday without that.

LadyBiscuit · 24/08/2010 18:48

I was camping last weekend and it was surprisingly quiet. I'm sure there were some other MNers there :o

Oblomov · 24/08/2010 19:00

hijack alert. sorry. posted last week on some of the camping threads.
I have gone off camping. We returned home last night.after one week of it pissing it down almost constantly in dorset. we couldn't face another week of the misery. so we have come home for a couple of nights. have had a hot bath and a good nights sleep in our own bed. thinking of going back on thursday. was told wednesday was going to be awful. then we would have 4 days left.

please make me feel better about this camping malarkey.
