I have booked a weekend in the Forest of Dean on 24/09.
Will it be freeeeeezing?
Am quite new to camping and jjust survived a week in Cornwall - had to use a heater one evening though. Blush

I hope not! I'm wanting to go to Sherwood Forest in September.

I'm going camping the same weekend and will hopefully get another one in during October. Hot water bottles & loads of layers.

I'm a cub leader, and will be camping in October... you are not mad, but a decent 3 season sleeping bag and sleeping in tracky bottoms, a fleece and possibly a hat will make your weekend more bearable!

kayah · 17/08/2010 18:33

soft wooly hat - good idea :)
and a flask

Curiousmama · 17/08/2010 18:33

Agree with layers and you already have a heater. Hat yes! No you're not mad, dp and me camped in March and there was frost on the tent Grin But it's a small vango halo and we were cosy insideSmile

poppyboo · 17/08/2010 18:34

we're thinking about camping October half term in our bell tent.

Grockle · 17/08/2010 18:50

September should be ok if you take plenty of blankets and warm clothing. I am a seasoned camper, having camped in snow but September is my latest - I will not go in October.

I think we may go away on the 24th too.

Curiousmama · 17/08/2010 18:52

SFD how big's your tent?

SixtyFootDoll · 17/08/2010 18:59

That looks great Smile Hope it goes well for you and you're not too cold, I think you'll be fine though.
