camped in the garden last night - cows?

Not exactly a camping question but having bought a new tent me and my seven year old decided to try it out in the garden last night. At various points during the night we both heard what sounded like a couple of cows mooing! we live in the middle of a housing estate and I know for a fact there is no cows anywhere near us so what could it have been?

no it was definitely an animal sound and more than one (slightly different pitches) and no we live in Suffolk

Foxes? I don't know what they sound like. Cats growling?

well sound carries at night, any fields nearby?

no fields anywhere near us and def not cats. I did wonder about foxes as there are wooded areas not too far away. Seriously in day time in the right area I would swear it was cows!

were wolf in the woods.
