Is it possible? I do have 4 dc but don't plan on taking them all at one time. What I was thinking is getting a very cheap 4 man tent and I only plan on going for 1 to 2 nights at a time.

Me and dp would like to take our two youngest 3 yrs and 3 months and one of his daughters away for a night or two in a couple of weeks time whilst my eldest two and dp other dd are away on thier holidays. But we are very broke and I don't think it can be done.

can you camp also with such a young baby.. how do you sterilize bottles and keep the baby warm. I've got some stuff already only camping lights and a couple of sleeping bags but i appreciate you need a lot more.

get this(or 2 at that price!) for cooking.

They're really great little stoves you could then boil the bottle/teat etc to sterilise?

or you could take a tupperware tub and fill with water/milton tablets?

You don't need alot - just take stuff from home bedding, kitchen stuff/plastic plates etc.

Don't have any experience of taking young babies camping, but I'm sure it's quite easy to keep them warm by adding an extra blanket or two - it's not really that cold at this time of year. As far as equipment is concerned, I would get the biggest tent you can afford - a good second-hand one from ebay would probably be a better bet than a cheap and small new one. Then if you do want to take more children you can. What is your budget for a tent (if that's not too rude a question to ask). You will need something to sleep on, then just take pillows and duvets. Take most of your food with you - tinned stuff is best, hot dog sausages, baked beans, tinned ham etc. Not the best quality or nutrition but okay for a night or two.

or try an end of season sale - our tent was cheaper there than e-bay...

Whereabouts are you?

If you're anywhere near W Yorks, you'd be welcome to borrow ours - 2 bedrooms, easily sleeps 2 adults & 3 dc.

Otherwise second Surprise's advice re: taking duvets & tins - keep it simple!

I'm sure I could rustle you up a tent if you are near me - berkshire?
