At what age would you let your children camp in the back garden without an adult?

Just wondering as I can't come up with an answer!

Ds1 is camping alone tonight for the second night. He is 9. 7yo dd wanted to as well, but unfortunately a series of tantrums and disobedience mean she is in her own bed tonight. I would havd let them sleep out in the tent together, but not dd alone. Once they've slept out together a few nights, then, if dd wanted too, I would let them sleep out together in separate tents.

I would not let dd sleep out completely alone yet.

I always lock the back door at night, but if children are camping in the garden I leave it unlocked of course. That freaks me!

when I used to do it (don't remember what age from, but only remember doing it in the garden of the house we moved to when I was 9) I used to have a back door key in the tent with me. and the dog.
