Can anyone reccommend a campsite which is good for kids in the lake district?
ideally we was looking for something with a playground but where you could see your child from your pitch.

I have heard and read good things about Fisherground campsite in Eskdale. We are going this week.

Fisherground Campsite

I saw somewhere else mentioned on here the other day. Gibraltar farm I think?

We liked the quiet site - it doesn't have a playground as such but a field with rope swings etc.. and A BAR.

I looked at that site but £34 per night is a little bit steep for us I thought.

I'd second Fisherground. We went when kids were 18m & 3y - loved it!

Not sure if they let you book in advance now? I'm sure we did, but I seem to think they stopped that - have thought about going back there again, but worry about the site being full (would prob be a BH weekend trip so busy!)

You can only book for EHU at Fisherground. We are going on Thursday for the weekend, am getting worried it will be full! What do we do then?!

i went to fisherground with dh about 10 yr ago - how has it evolved? are the pitch spaces generous and what are the loos like now as when we went they were daddy long legs ridden and a bit grim. Is this the place. Has anyone been to casterigg as that is supposed to be nice in the lakes.
