I keep peeking at them and then going back to my conventional tent because bell tents look to be expensive - is there somewhere that does them uber cheap you all go to???

It's cheaper directly from Holland, but they won't send to the UK anymore, so you'd need to be there or know someone who is and can then courier to you. Sucks a bit.

Only other option probably Ebay - I wonder if people would sell once the camping season is over?

nappyzoneloveschinesefood · 03/08/2010 17:27

thanks for that. How much are they from holland then if i knew someoen which i dont but i can make friends quick lol?

Hahahaha. One sec, let me check.

Ok, here goes:

If basic (loose groundsheet) 4m, the Obelink price is ?195, vs the £299 Soulpad. It seems Belltent UK doesn't stock that one anymore, but it was £299 the last time I looked.

For a 5m with loose groundsheet, the prices are:
Obelink: ?279
Belltent UK and Soulpad: £350

MisSalLaneous · 03/08/2010 17:47

Just make sure you check courier costs first if you want it sent - when Obelink still provided directly to the UK, it wasn't too much, but you'll need to shop around for good courier prices if you want it sent by a friend, as it is pretty heavy.

MisSalLaneous · 03/08/2010 17:48

Urgh, the "?" is supposed to be a Euro sign, obviously.

MisSalLaneous · 03/08/2010 17:51

The courier cost to France is €19, so if you ever go to France, it could be an option to get it sent there?

Yes I know (re the price difference) - crazy, isn't it?! I got all huffy and persuaded dh to drive to Holland to buy it ourselves. Obviously the crossing and diesel made up for the difference, but I thought if I had to pay out so much money, I might as well get a "free" weekend out of it!

They used to send to UK too, but now have a supplier agreement with some UK companies not to.

nappyzoneloveschinesefood · 03/08/2010 19:23

oh really well that uttelry pisses me off now and i will stick to my vango! What size would you get for a family of 4?

OP posts:
MisSalLaneous · 03/08/2010 19:33

I'd get a 5m for family of 4. We got a 4m one as that was perfect for us (3 of us), but I think it would get a bit crowded if more or as they become older (ds is just older than 2 now).

nappyzoneloveschinesefood · 03/08/2010 19:37

thankyou

there's no such thing..... you'll be embroidering cushion covers and wiring up fairy lights when my back is turned....

stripeyknickersspottysocks · 04/08/2010 10:58

Someone in Holland could make a fortune setting a business up couriering them over here.

nappyzoneloveschinesefood · 04/08/2010 11:45

i wont honest, i am pushing it out of my mind, i wont mention it again.

Lovecat · 04/08/2010 17:08

Ooh, I want one of these! Have nearly persuaded DH...

I have a workmate who goes back to NL every weekend to visit his girlfriend, he said he can bring me one back as extra baggage for €55, is that better than a courier?

I don't want to break the poor bloke's back carrying the thing!
