Marks place as I am thinking about buying one.

What sort did you get? I do not have a clue about camping btw .

nappyzoneloveschinesefood · 02/08/2010 12:02

you tell us what you bought then you go and put it up alone in the garden then marvel at how clever you are then come back and just become an expert then you can try and get it back in the bag then do it again till you can do it at warp speed.

notwavingjustironing · 02/08/2010 12:38

And we all pile in and cheer at random intervals.

It's the law.

suwoo · 02/08/2010 13:28

Put it up alone are you kidding me? It says at least two people on the website. I've not got it yet, waiting for stupid seller to contact me.

It is this fine specimen.

I am going to look for a site for the bank hol. Am I being deluded? Will they be full?

oh thats a piece of piss you will easy put that up on your own

suwoo · 02/08/2010 14:23

I have no idea if you are taking the piss or not. Seriously.

nooooooooooooooo not me - yeah you could get that up alone really - read the isntructions first and go for it!

omnishambles · 02/08/2010 16:03

suwoo dont listen to them - wait for help honestly - then you and the help can argue about it for hours. Its traditional.

nappyzoneloveschinesefood · 02/08/2010 16:11

spoil sport - no i say do it then you can be masterful and in theknow when doing it with your partner - when we camped last week it only took 5 mins into it and my dh shouted he hated all this shit and it was going on ebay - i laughed at him and sent him of to the loos with the dc and proceeded to continue alone then he came back less stressed lol and i let him knock in the pegs with the hammer - at the end he asked to stay on a few extrsa days!

Another advocate of "put it up yourself and bask in the glory of your own magnificence".

You'll never feel the same about yourself again.....

stinkypinky · 02/08/2010 18:57

Put it up yourself, and get a shewee... and your DH will never look at you the same way again

SanctiMoanyArse · 02/08/2010 19:01

we had a version of that tent and dh could pitch alone

you'll be fiiiiine

DontCallMeBaby · 02/08/2010 19:16

I've taken delivery of a tent today and REALLY want to put it up and bask in the glory of my own magnificence (who wouldn't?!) but I think the trampoline will have to be moved first, and I can't do that single-handed. Not fair!

suwoo · 02/08/2010 22:19

I'm picking it up tomorrow night, so all day on. Wednesday I'll give it a go. I will be like a dog with 2 dicks if I can do it myself!
How much do we need electric for our pitch? It's proving v difficult to find one with for the bank hol.

OP posts:
nappyzoneloveschinesefood · 03/08/2010 09:56

We get electric but tbh apart from using it for the pump to blow up the beds it was not really necessary oh and i charged my phone up on it once i think.

notwavingjustironing · 03/08/2010 10:58

I'm going without this weekend (no choice) - but you're right, you can use the car for most things like the bed and recharging lights etc.

I'm a bit less scared of the whole process this time (only my second camp, AND I've persuaded DH to come with me this time, so I have to impress him with my casual tent management).

SanctiMoanyArse · 03/08/2010 10:59

We do run a tent light on ours when we use it, and the littyle fridge, and it's there for chargers (DH takes his laptop so whilst not actively working in sense of despatching sold goods can take queries etc- one of the joys of self employment. We cope just as well without it though; he shuts down work completely whenw e go to pembrokeshire or if in teh FoD we just stop by teh internet drop in centre for 30 minutes.

notwavingjustironing · 03/08/2010 11:05

I've decided it's good for the soul to "manage" when camping.

I haven't yet found the middle ground between packing everything I own, and existing with minimum possessions!
