What do you do after the kids have gone bedon a campsite?

What do other people do after their kids are in bed?
We are getting bored of card games and reading and wondering what other people get up to

drink tea or wine

eat biscuits

make love sweet love (quietly) (rare)

tbh it's mostly reading and eating biscuits

ooh but you know what I did see last year.

There was one lady in the tent opposite who when she had her dc packed off to bed got out the most ginormous jigsaw puzzle. She had it in one of those roll up mats and put it on their table. She had the radio on and drank wine and did her jigsaw.

She looked VERY relaxed doing it.

dh and I also play travel scrabble.

is just me and dc so the shagging is out
I'm going to take a lantern and write

we forgot the books and playing cards one year and spent an hour playing shadow shapes on the ceiling of the tent every night oh simple things [grins]

Sleep!! by the time my 2 have given up i'm knackered and just want my bed. Boring or what.lol

we get the enormous satellite dish out and watch 'homes from hell' and big brother

Wait then wait a bit more for them to give up and sleep then think sod it and go to bed ourselves then get woken at dawn, i love camping (posted from campsite)

Well my three year old is go bed and should drop of soon and dh and dd are playing football so I am sat here watching with a bot of rose all to myself having just knocked all pegs in and tightened guys again - I think I am obsessed but then it is flapping a fair bit!!!

Duck where are you? We go cotswold area and I keep wondering if anyone is a mumsnetter lol

Nappy we're in wilts at the moop, I often wonder too!

This is our first night so I am preparing for hell ! Is it a nice site? We at green hill and its really clean.

We drink wine, read or play badminton.This year we had enough room outside our caravan.

OK so I am offically really sad - I love the jigsaw idea . May have to try it this year...
TBH I find that sitting out after dark just gets me cold, despite the layers i put on. I end up drinking hot choc then resign and go to bed, on the theory that I will be woken early!

Dd3 (3yo) always goes first.
She decides herself when she wants to go to bed when camping. She seems to know what's good for her. It's usually fairly late on the first night (9 o'clock-ish) then the second and third night she's usually so tired that she's trying to take herself off to bed from 6pm onwards! We use distraction techniques to make her last a bit longer and can usually make her stretch to 6.30/7.00

We usually play a few card games then with dd1 (10yo) and dd2 (7yo) then all go to bed together.

We're usually up between 6.30 and 7.30 so it never seems a good idea to stay up late ...

go to bed right after, only way to get enough kip...

We always camp where you can have a camp fire, and we sit out and watch the stars while the fire dies down, and drink mulled wine. No beer, because who wants a long trek to the toilet block in the middle of the night.

DCs have cocoa, and stay up as long as they want.

I plan to drink wine. Lots of. And read cos I never grt to do that at home

nappyzone - we have two campsites in our village in the Cotswolds, I have cake.

We drink wine and watch the stars come out.

It's the best bit of camping for me (that and the early morning cup of tea before the kids get up).

Booze from about 5pm 8pm, then early bed and a bit of nookie Heaven.

Drink wine then have sex. The drink more wine and have more sex.
