where does an ultra cheap tent, big enough for 3 little ones, and one big one if they insist on me joining in (am guessing 3-4 man tent?)

Something like this would probably be good

misdee · 27/07/2010 20:03

I have this. We've had it up in the garden, though not yet camped in it. There is easily space for the three dc plus me. It looks good, I think it will be even better than our other, smaller, pop-up (not a Quechua) which we have used in pouring rain and were very pleased with.

There are cheaper versions. I chose that one because of the porch area.

we got a v cheap 3 man tent from argos a few years back and it has been used in the garden many times.

You'd need a 4 man deff.

Tesco

B&Q is selling tents for about £7 at the moment. I have no idea if they are any good. But you could try, in the garden.

this from Argos
or this
or this for more sophisticated camping

or this

Depends if you want cheap cheap cheap to satisfy a camp-in-garden fun activity or if you will use it more infuture, and what will actually fit in your garden, once all the guy ropes are spread ou etc - also what you have storage for!

Blu · 28/07/2010 13:18

two of these for a total of £12!

we dont have much lawn.

we do have a deck, with rails, was thinking of tying the guy ropes to that? would that be ok. b+q ones look like they might be up for the job. chuck 3 kiddos in one, i nab the air bed for the other, and they can pile in on blankets lol.
