anyone know of a campsite near Castleford?

We've just bought our first tent and are planning to go somewhere just for 1 or 2 nights for our 1st trip in case it's a nightmare with our smallish children.

We're thinking of going to a rugby game in Castleford near the end of August and as it's a 4 hour drive away thought it'd be a good chance to take the tent. So does anyone know if a campsite that is nearish Castleford? We're coming from the south so would prefer not to be north of Castleford.

Oh yes, Nostell Priory would be nice. I was struggling to think of anywhere near here you might want be able to camp.

There's a place called Highfield House Caravan Park (it's on UK campsite) which is literally round the corner from my house It always seems to have plenty of people there - it's a very basic site but less than 10 minutes from the M1 and probably about 20 minutes from Castleford. Am not sure that I'd want to drive 4 hours to stay there though

To be honest, I'd be tempted to head on towards York, Wetherby or Harrogate for the sake of another half an hour drive. Or, maybe head more Selby way - there seems to be quite a lot on uk campsite here and it's only about 20 mins from Castleford.

Thanks, I've emailed Nostell Priory but they emailed back saying I have to phone for enquiries so I'll phone them later (am 'working' at the moment) and see if they've got space.
If they don't I'll have a look at some of the other ones a bit further North.

I did get a rather odd look from a friend when I said we might go on a camping trip to Castleford
