It is our first camping trip of the year this weekend, as soon as the school closes at 1.30 we are off to Beddgelert.

I have pulled everything out of the shed and garage and checked it, but am sure that I have forgotten something!

Here is my list:

Tent
Airbeds
Sleeping Bags
Pillows
Lanterns
Chairs
Picnic Rug
Stove + gas
Saucepans, kettle, toaster.
BBQ
Plates, bowls, cups, mugs
Cutlery + utensils
Water bottles
Cool box
Washing up bowl
Clothes ranging from shorts and t-shirts to Fleeces and waterproofs
PJs
Wellies
Toiletries
Meds + first aid kit
Books + mp3 player
Bikes, balls, games etc

We will buy food on the way up, so don't need to pack that.

What have I forgotten?

Hello I am new to mumsnet and reading this thread has made me snigger. Camping is meant to be a time of relaxing and bare essentials. But yep there I am with my list and the "can't forget a thing" because of course there isn't any shops that you can pick up some washing up liquid or bin bags. I am so glad it isn't just me, oh and the list gets bigger every year there is always something new you possibly can't be without. I did use to be a camper that just put a tent, sleeping bag, one gas burner, one saucepan and a kettle in the car and be off ohhhhhhhhhh they were the uncomplicated days before children.

your list is great, will be studying it carefully later!

Lol Mungo I can remember doing Duke of Edinburgh's award as a teenager and only taking what I could carry in my rucksack! Oh how things have changed since having 3 children...

Yes tis all very well saying you can buy stuff when you get there but who wants to waste precious holiday time on shopping?

Also that is how you come to own 23 torches, all of which have only been used once....

the only things i have ever really missed are a can opener and corkscrew (priorities)
