Due to my diabetes I need to eat low carb but the lower the carbs the lower the calories so I don’t think I am eating enough calories to lose weight.

Take a look at Dr Unwin or Dr Westman on YouTube, both offer advice for healthy and sustainable low carb.
And the idea is that you replace carbs with fat, which is higher calorie.

Thank you I will check them out.

I am on 1400 calories to loose 1lb a week. I sometimes toy with 1200 to loose 1.5lb a week but then go back as I find 1200 just a bit too restrictive.

I'm on a low carb/high protein diet. I'm eating an average of 1600 cals a day which gives me a 1lb loss each week pretty reliably.

What surprises me is how high the carb value in fruit and vegetable is. I don't eat any "extra" carbs like bread, potato, rice or pasta but my carb percentage is still around 30% on an average day
