Calorie counting absolutely works as does eating a high protein diet. My gym has a high tech scanner and since 1st Dec I have lost 8.5kg in fat & 9cm from my waist without loosing any muscle mass. I strength train x3 weekly and walk 8-10k steps per day.

This is amazing- well done you! You must feel great!
Any tips for the best app for calorie counting (have tried MFP and another I want remember) and also strength training, do you do that all at the gym? I do a lot of walking and some Pilates but would really like to get into strength training (preferably without the gym if that's possible!

Thank you @AuraBora i am feeling fabulous and thoroughly enjoying the journey!

I would highly recommend nutracheck for calorie counting, it is a paid app, I think around £30 for the year but it's definitely worth the investment. The problem with MFP is that it can and is inaccurate alot of the time whereas nutracheck is independently verified. It also has an eating out section with a large number of well known restaurants.

I do use the gym for strength training, although I bought a couple of dumbells I quickly moved up weights. I train better when I leave my house 😊I do follow alot of fitness groups though and lots of people rate Caroline Girvan but could be Gorvin? On YouTube so it might be worth having a look. I love pilates too but just haven't had the time for that aswell with everything else

Thanks for all the info! I've heard a few people on here recommend Nutracheck so I'll definitely have a look at that.
I think for the moment I may work on increasing the pilates at home as I get more used to it through my class, and once I feel a bit stronger than perhaps look into more focused weight training.
Hope you continue to have success, sounds like a great path you're on!
