Starting today - anyone with me?

After so many reasons for delaying starting trying to lose weight, today is the day.

Anyone with me?

I’m going to be calorie counting using Nutracheck.

I would like to lose one stone to start with and then re-assess.

Really want to try and lose as much as possible before December!

Hi, can I join you? I’ve got 3 stone to lose but would like to start by aiming for 1 stone by my son’s birthday in early December.

Do you have a set calorie limit? I am tall and heavy and although all the calculators say I should be aiming for 1800 a day in reality I don’t lose unless closer to 1400 a day.

good luck! 🙂

Sahmcharlie · 10/10/2024 21:24

hello! I started today! 12 weeks postpartum and im planning to lose a stone by christmas!

ive done it before so hoping i can find the same motivation, my plan is to have 1400 calories
i keep breakfast and lunch the same everyday i find the consistency easier - 2 weetabix & banana for breakfast , 1 slice of toast with half a tin of beans & two veggies ( i have spinach and mushrooms ) for lunch

tea is a variety of fish veg and a carb or meat veg and a carb!
i avoid snacks all together but survive on a lot of black coffee , water & teas!

my aim is for atleast 2 home workouts (maybe 3 if baby allows!)

lets do this!

qwerty1972 · 13/10/2024 21:27

I’d like to join please. 2024 has been my year of no willpower, but that needs to change. I’m aiming to eat around 1100 calories per day (I’m only 5 feet tall) and avoid too many carbs. Nothing off limits though - so long as I don’t exceed my calorie count. If I could get a stone off by mid-December, I’d be over the moon. I’ll weigh myself tomorrow morning…

There's a few of us over here if helpful, some only started this week. It's a friendly crew!

I would like to join. I need to drop a stone.

Is nutracheck better than myfitnesspal? I've always used the latter but refuse to pay for the full version and the adverts and restrictions on it now make it almost unusable.

qwerty1972 · 14/10/2024 07:14

Weigh in - 154 pounds.

Aiming for 140 by mid-December and then around 120 by Easter.

Let’s go!

LemonTurdCart · 15/10/2024 07:11

I will join you please. I was getting on well with Noom then fell off the wagon for 2 months due to work stress.
I won’t eat like a horse between now and Christmas and undo all my hard work!
14st10 today and would like to be 13-something by mid December.
What is everyone’s strategy?

DaftyLass · 24/10/2024 06:13

I'd like to join too, I have been eating terribly for a while now, and need to reset my course.
I like the idea of a stone at a time for my goal.

Lemonsandsunshine · 24/10/2024 06:43

Started with nutracheck on Sunday 5ft 8 and starting weight of 13st 4lb but think I was retaining water so expecting to be one or two pounds lighter by Saturday weigh in even if I don't do anything. Going with 1700 calories a day and ultimately aiming to be 12st but taking it as 4lbs targets at a time as I know if I set a stone as my target I just go, 'that'll never happen,' and give up. Also, have a health condition that causes internal organs to get bigger due to cysts and I find it very easy to say, 'not my fault, it's the conditions fault for making me heavy,' when really I could definitely do with losing weight. Good luck everyone.

Sahmcharlie · 24/10/2024 10:14

Welcome guys!

had my two week check in and 5lbs down!
from 11st8 to 11.3

i have been slightly going over my target of 1400 calories been getting more 1600 but still in a considerable deficit so not beating myself up!

still hoping to get to my pre baby weight of 10st 7 by christmas

8 weeks & 10lbs to go!

Lemonsandsunshine · 26/10/2024 07:34

Morning everyone just done my first weekly weigh in. 13st 4lbs down to 12st 13lbs! Admittedly think lots of that was from water retention last week.
I don't have a problem sticking to calories counted meals all day but it's the evenings that are a problem. I desperately want a biscuit/chocolate with a cuppa in the evening.
Anyone got any strategies to help with this?

Well done! Always lovely getting into a new stone ‘bracket’ and it starting with a 12!

I find it really helpful to have some popcorn or a punnet of grapes for evenings- a serving of popcorn is 80/90 cal and unlike a biscuit where you might have one and need to resist more, being able to just graze on a bowl of popcorn helps this craving! Same works with grapes! For me anyway :)

Lemonsandsunshine · 26/10/2024 10:19

Thanks @Sahmcharlie really pleased with the loss. Will try popcorn, grapes and chatgpt suggested greek yoghurt with a teaspoon of cocoa and a drop of vanilla essence or banana slices dipped in dark chocolate and frozen because the evening is definitely my weak time.

testytimes · 26/10/2024 10:41

good start to even be saying “Start today”

When i see OPs saying that they plan to start on Monday / after their great aunt’s birthday tea / after they’ve finished the crap that is in the house currently…. I think “no chance”

mamatoTails · 29/10/2024 11:36

Hi!
I've started with NutraCheck today!
83kg on the scales, need to drop 10kg.

Hope everyone is getting on well.

Lemonsandsunshine · 30/10/2024 08:06

Tried the frozen banana slices coated in dark chocolate. They're like extremely small chocolate ices so helping with cravings. Good luck @mamatoTails
