Is it possible to lose 2 stone in 3 months

PeacheyPeach · 17/05/2022 10:17

OK I bit the bullet and weighed myself this morning!! I'm 12 stone and 5 ft 5 so I'm the overweight category now 😩
I've put this weight on since last summer.
We go away in just under 3 months do you think it is even achievable to lose 2 stone without killing myself in the process!!!!

Yip, I've lost 2 and a half in 4 months but that's with still having a takeaway each week😁

Plump82 · 17/05/2022 19:58

Yep I lost 2 stone between mid Jan to mid Apr. I'm hoping to lose another 2 over the next 3 months.
I'm doing the 16:8 diet along with low carb and it's the only thing that's ever worked for me.

TabithaTittlemouse · 17/05/2022 19:58

@PeacheyPeach have a look at nutra check, I’m finding it really helpful.

PeacheyPeach · 17/05/2022 21:15

Thank you all xxx @Mrsmch123 can I ask what type of takeaway do you get? This will be my weekend treat!!
@TabithaTittlemouse will take a look at that now xx

@Plump82 yes that's what I'm hoping to do. 16:8 along with calorie counting. Can I ask how many calories do you allow for each day x

I'll join this challenge.
Can I ask roughly how many calories you eat per day / how much exercise if you've been successful?

I know calories depends on individual needs, but I've been trying since Christmas and only lost about 2 pounds, going wrong somewhere!

Mrsmch123 · 18/05/2022 10:39

@PeacheyPeach i have either a apiece chicken pizza 12ish and normally eat 3/4 of it or I have fried rice, curry sauce, a handful of chips and 2/3 chicken balls. Ohhh and some prawn crackers🙈😂
@Basilbrushgotfat i eat 1586 calories per day. I don't exercise at all. Not particularly active as I'm on mat leave. Just hand around the house with my 10 month old. I find weighing everything helps as my idea of 10g of butter is wayyyyyy off😂🙈also water water water😂

Mrsmch123 · 18/05/2022 10:41

That should say spicy chicken and 12 inch🙈

MrsSkylerWhite · 18/05/2022 10:43

Yes it is. Considerably up your exercise too but don't get het up about weight, though as muscle weighs more than fat. Pick an outfit that you’re aiming for and work towards that.

MintyGreenDream · 18/05/2022 10:45

I've lost half a stone in a month doing low carb and calorie counting so yes it's doable

WellTidy · 18/05/2022 10:50

I think it is easier to lose two stone in three months if you have a lot of weight to lose. If you have two stone to lose to be a healthy BMI then it will be harder to do it in that time.

I lost (four pounds off) two stone in almost five months last year which took me within the healthy BMI range and it was hard. I calorie counted (didn’t cut anything out) and upped my exercise. I did have treats and fell off the wagon some days, but it was hard. And boring 😆

Incidentally I am the same weight now as I was this time last year, give it take a couple of pounds, but a different shape. The exercise I now do makes me look slimmer than I was this time last year despite being pretty much the same weight.

Startuplife · 18/05/2022 10:57

Yes definitely, I’m around 135lbs/9.6 stone so don’t have loads to lose and I’ve lost half a stone in 6 weeks pretty easily.

I eat 1,200 calories a day and do an exercise class 3-4 times a week. Then I save those burnt calories so that I can have a cheat day at the weekend. I wouldn’t say I go crazy but I’ll use that day to go out for dinner and drinks and not check the calories. I do still try to stick to things I know are slightly better so a glass of Prosecco rather than a sugary cocktail for example.

Startuplife · 18/05/2022 10:58

Also I really recommend the Pinch of Nom recipes. They make it really easy to have “normal” food like a pasta bake or a curry for example but for under 400/500 calories.

PeacheyPeach · 18/05/2022 16:31

I think exercise is definitely going to have be factored in this time around. As I'm early 40s and have noticed my weight feels more solid and I look quite matronly at the moment, caught sight of my reflection in shop window yesterday and didn't recognise the middle aged stumpy woman!!!

I was hoping to lose 2stone in 3 months but it’s going to be more like 4 months I think. I have found it really hard. I agree though that exercise will change your shape even if you aren’t reaching the goals. I started 1st March I have lost 21lbs. I still have 64lb to lose 😭
but I look different as I have walked and walked and walked!

No sorry lol, I have 40lb to lose 🤣

NickD87 · 09/06/2022 18:29

I think so. I’ve recently lost a stone in 3 weeks. 5 days a week burning 500+ calories in cardio in gym (but can be done in about an hour) and then eating no more than 800 calories a day (but trying to stick to 700).
It hasn’t been that tough really. Just make sure you eat the foods that are low in calories but will fill you up.

pinkyponkyplink · 13/06/2022 23:42

How is it going?

Thanks for this

PeacheyPeach · 17/06/2022 00:04

@pinkyponkyplink hi there so far I've lost about 7lbs . I've been doing a 30 min workout every morning and trying to get a walk in, in the day also and I'm trying to stick to about 1500 cals a day. I'm just going to stick at this and hopefully lose some more weight as the time goes on!!

pinkyponkyplink · 18/06/2022 07:03

@PeacheyPeach that's brilliant. How long has it taken you to lose that? Mine just isn't budging and I've no idea why

PeacheyPeach · 18/06/2022 19:18

@pinkyponkyplink I started around 17th May, just eating low carb and low calorie and doing some form of exercise every day. Are you following any type of diet or anything?
