Whoop whoop, officially no longer “overweight”, but still some lbs to go

I’ve not told anyone in rl that I’m dieting (except dh) and it’s not a huge amount but I’ve lost 6lbs after taking about it for 8 months after my weight crept up through lockdown 2.

Today I hit the scales at 10st 8lbs (5’5”) and that means I’m in the healthy range. I lost 2st 3 years ago and kept it off until about July 2020 when it started going up. I’ve been running 3 times a week but eating too much of everything. Now I have an injury so can’t run I knew I’d need to tackle the food. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to keep going and reset my eating habits! I’d love to be under 10st again so still a way to go but wanted a mini celebration.

Congratulations, I'm 5'6" and have just got down to 12 st exactly, still a way to go for my bmi to be in the healthy range. I can't wait to drop a tiny bit more and then I will be able to say 11 stone something instead of 12/13 stone. Smile

Moving those hurdles and going down to the next stone is such a boost. I seem to hang on ages before getting under a stone marker or the 10:9 I needed to be “healthy”!

That’s great, I’m also 5’ 5” and know 10st 10lbs to be the top of the “healthy” BMI for me too. My ideal weight is around 9 stone 10lbs to 10 stone but I’m currently 11 stone 10lbs- I have a 4 month old baby so am still carrying baby weight and am breastfeeding so ravenous all the time and don’t feel like dieting!!
Well done, OP, it’s a great feeling to reach goals/milestones.

Astrabees · 11/07/2021 15:07

Me too! It is a great feeling to reach a healthy weight. I'm 5'3" and now 10 stone. I also managed a 5k run this week

m0therofdragons · 13/07/2021 23:20

Well done @Astrabees that’s fab - I’m amazed I can run 5k with ease now. I can make it harder by pushing to go faster but just knowing it’s achievable means even when I was overweight I was feeling healthy running 5 and 10ks.

I’m slightly and unrealistically annoyed the scales are still on 10.8 but they’ve not gone up.

@LittleRa now definitely isn’t be time to even consider diets - enjoy your baby and try to get some sleep when you can. Depending on the baby, the first 6 months can be brutal - dd1 was horrendous but dtds saved the horrendous for the terrible twos for full public humiliation of parenting fails. We seem to have survived.

Thanks OP. I have a 7yo DD too, so feel like at least this time I know I will eventually get out the other side Grin

I read your OP and thought I'd posted and forgot about it, so similar Grin
I'm 5'3" and just got down to 10st 1 which puts me at 25 BMI, I was down to 8st 10 in 2019 breastfeeding my second baby and running lots with the buggy Blush
I'm doing MFP and aiming for about 9st.

Congratulations! You’re the weight I want to be at 5ft5. Currently 11st 2lb but been this for ages. Need to have a big push!

LaPufalina · 20/07/2021 13:10

I figured I had 26lbs to get back to 8st10 and 26 weeks until Christmas eve a month ago!
God I hate calorie counting, but I'm into the swing of it now.
I've had c.1k calorie deficits the past few days and have managed a pound on rather than off, is it the weather causing water retention?
