How many calories - one meal a day?

Hi, on the first lock down I want low carb and stick to around 1300 cams per day. This lockdown I’ve gained 7 of the 15lbs I had lost. I am trying to to One meal a day but it appears that I am eating to many calories as I am staying the same weight.

I have zero motivation atm so was wondering how many calories others are on?

Why one meal a day?

anothernewone · 15/12/2020 20:31

Are you exercising? Snacking? Having sugary drinks to stop you being hungry?

TheListeners · 15/12/2020 22:26

Your body could easily knock your metabolism down do that 1300 calories is almost maintenance. Are you still low carb? Mix it up and have two meals one day and one meal some days. Keep your body guessing and your metabolism is less likely to adjust.

@anothernewone very little exercise atm apart from my 10k steps snacking a little usually a bar with 100 cals.

@TheListeners that’s a good point. I am doing low carb and try to stick to that but I am back at work so sometimes just grab a scone - my cals are around 1000 ish daily. I love a milky coffee so that’s prob adding a few hundred cals.

Are you using an app to track calories in plus burnt?
I do intermittent fasting, so 2 meals a day (usually 12 and 5pm) but one 300cal one 500cal, plus a couple of drinks on none exercise days

You need to log your calories, not guesstimate. It's bit annoying at the beginning, but from what you write, you might find out that you are not on 1300.
