Heffersclub · 23/09/2020 09:39

Okay, so I've weighed myself and discovered that I am now 17st 2 lbs -
240 pounds so after years of procrastination I need to actually do something about my weight.
Anyone care to join me for encouragement etc? My goal is 5% - 12lbs.
I'm 5'3 so starting to resemble a fecking weeble...

I'm planning to use MFP regularly as it works but I am in the habit of if it looks like I've had too many calories by a certain point in the day I stop tracking! I think I need to be stricter with how many I have for each meal.

'I am in the habit of if it looks like I've had too many calories by a certain point in the day I stop tracking! '

Ha! Snap - it consistency I think that makes anything like this work. And it's so easy to go off track and think "I'll start again tomorrow" and then repeat...

I'm with you! Currently on a 51 day streak which is my longest in about a year. @sociallydistained I do sometimes do the same despite telling myself anything g I dont log will end up on my waist anyway Wink

Anyway, OP, here to support/be on the road with you however I can. I have successfully lost around 3 stone before and managed to to keep off 2 of them!

MrsMcBoatface · 24/09/2020 09:08

Me!! Been using it for years to track my weight but just realized how useful it is for calorie tracking. I like the barcode scanner. I always shunned calorie counting as it seemed to diet oriented but after years of weight watchers, slimming world, low carb on a repeating cycle I'm ready to face up to reality.. eating too much (weather it's apples, pasta, or cheddar cheese) doesn't help with weight loss. Surprisingly I find I'm more in touch with my hunger following a week of calorie tracking. Also the MFP exercise routines are great!

MrsMcBoatface · 24/09/2020 09:15

*that should say, real hunger.. it isn't making me more hungry to use the tracker but having the freedom to choose any food is making me 'own' my choices.. and having more satisfying meals as a result. (did have to add in a few chocolate tiffins last night Shock better to be honest as it's just me looking!)

FatGirlShrinking · 24/09/2020 09:16

Me, don't know exactly how many days I've been logging, but about 50 and I'm 25lb down so far, started at 233lb beginning of August and weighed in at 208lb this morning.

FatGirlShrinking · 25/09/2020 13:00

How are you getting on with MFP @Heffersclub

SallySolardel · 25/09/2020 13:06

I've started using MFP recently and have lost 10 lbs so far! I'm really pleased with my progress, and I love that I can eat anything I like as long as I track it and work it into my daily calories.

oo0Tinkerbell0oo · 09/10/2020 14:37

I have started MFP today, i'm looking to lose 2 maybe 2.5 stone. I'm within my limit today and i have done 30 mins on the bike and 50 sit ups with the Wonder Core i bought 2nd hand.
Are there foods i should avoid to help me along.

blubberball · 15/10/2020 16:29

Hi, I've just started up with MFP again. I set it to 1500 calories a day. Feels like I've tried everything over the years. I guess it all comes down to the fact that I eat far too much crap.

Last weighed myself, I was 14st 4. I'm too depressed to weigh myself today, but I want to get back to 13st 8, which is where I was back in May this year. At New year, I was 15st 8.

Good luck everyone! How is everyone getting along?

ageingdisgracefully · 15/10/2020 16:35

1200 calories here. I'm pretty strict but finding it harder now the nights are drawing in.

I'm doing ok but still with a gunt I'd like to get rid off.

I'm hopeful of getting into s pair of motivational Levi's before Christmas....

Nosuchthingastoomuchcheese · 17/10/2020 09:07

Hi can I join please. I have also been low carb for a while but just keep gaining weight. Could anyone share some low calorie meal ideas? I always wake up starving!

blubberball · 21/10/2020 07:00

Good morning! It's been a crappy week in my life, however been doing 1500 calories a day on my fitness pal, and managed to lose 2 lbs, so feeling pleased with my progress there. How is everyone getting on?

HopingHare · 21/10/2020 21:24

Hi everyone! Could I join? I am also resembling a weeble at 15st11 and 5ft1 😂 and hoping to TTC for our first early next year. Would like to shift a couple of stone before we start but not sure how quickly I can shift the pounds. Tracking 1200 a day but somehow put on weight this week 🙄 blaming the lack of exercise so done a workout tonight and feeling motivated again. Good luck! @Nosuchthingastoomuchcheese have you tried Pinch of Nom for recipes? I like BBC Good Food too for healthy ideas

Izzie321 · 27/12/2020 18:19

Hi all, how’re you all getting on?

I started using MFP in mid August and have now lost 36lbs! Started at 14st 9lbs, so still have lots to lose.

I’m already petrified I’m going to put it all back on, as this happened to me before when I went low carb. I’ve been eating 1400 cals a day, after eating 1200 a day for the first two months. Strangely I keep losing at the same rate. This confuses me. And people I talk to say I could eat even more and still lose, this is difficult for me to understand and I am struggling to let myself do it!

Anyway, really is interested to hear how you are getting on!
