Hi all, I've always been a Slimming Worlder or years ago WeightWatcher. I've lost a lot but still got another 5 stone to go. I'm so bored with SW so thought I'd give MFP a go and count the calories instead.

I've looked around online and can't see any good calorie counting forums, anybody know of any? Or anyone up for a little group on here?

Hi Aardvark, I'd love to join your group Smile I'm a fellow chubster and calorie counter, so I think I meet the criteria

Hi both. I've got 3.5 stone to shift. Have been a serial SWer, and lost 4 stone around 10 years ago, but now I'm a peri menopausal fatty and SW doesn't seem to work for me anymore.

I've downloaded Calorie Counter by NurtraCheck - much better than MFP imo as it's got a UK database and no vague US cup measurements. It is £3.99 a month though, but cheaper than SW.

I'm aiming for 1200 calories a day and upping my exercise from nothing to at the very least a brisk walk away from the office at lunchtime.

Well done on your weight loss so far Aardvark!

I did WW years ago and lost my weight permanently, or so I thought - ha! I was pretty much ok till I had my DTs 3.5 years ago. I did actually lose most of the baby weight but have put it all back on, plus more for good measure Blush

I'm actually a WW member at the moment but just can't get my head round it this time. Have 3 stone to lose and finding it really hard to get motivated, plus am suspected peri-menopausal . I'm a SAHM and my opportunities to exercise are very limited. Really miss the gym!

Can't get MFP to work at all with my Fitbit though, really annoying, will have a look at the other app instead. I got bored with SW too partly as our leader was overweight herself (not just a few lb but 4+ stones!) and wasn't particularly helpful.

If anyone has any good low cal baking recipes that would be really helpful. I enjoy baking and it's handy to have snacks to take out for walks with the DC!

Yes me!

I’m just counting mine on the Fitbit app. One month in so far, with a 1000 a day deficit rather than a fixed amount to take in. Have lots to lose - 5 stones, though with three I would look so much better. Already feel better due to increase of exercise.

I'm three weeks in now. First week I did use diet shakes - two a day with a low carb/cal meal in the evening. For the last two weeks I've stuck to between 1200 and 1300 calories a day and in total, I'm 12.5lbs down. Still got 2.8lbs to go though.

Previously lost 6 1/2 stone on weight watchers and now 1 year post birth I've 4 stone to lose. I follow a gp on Instagram who was very anti sw and ww and said they set you up for a failure because its not long term diet. So I've now decided to calories count but finding the motivation hard. With ww I loved the weekly weigh in and that was my motivation but when I'm just doing it myself at home it's much harder to stick to
