I've finally started to lose weight with MFP. I can feel the self sabotage coming on! Stern words please!

I need to lose 10kg to get back to within a healthy weight for my height. I've gone from a 12 to a 16 in 5 years and I hate it. I'm 52 menopausal and take hrt.

I have been logging 1200cals a day on mfp and as long as i stay busy its been ok. Ive lost 2kg. I'm so delighted to be finally losing I can feel a mild food obsession coming on, trying to work out how to eat more, whether to have a piece of toast, whether just to have a piece of cake or a larger portion and not log it.

I really need to lose this weight for my health and self esteem!

Any stern words welcome!

good work Fazackerley....I am using you as my MFP buddy haha. I am hoping for another kg too but I am on week 4 and history shows that's when I slow down.

Hey. How was the week? Down 4kg (9lb) but this week has been hard.
My problem is packets of stuff. I can't open a pack of anything and save some for later I have to eat the whole pack so I have found lots of packs of low cal treats. Aldi mini packs of chocolate rice cakes are 69cals and their version of mini milk lollies are 33cals they have a version of quavers at 64cals. I can have whole pack of these but if I open a big pack of rice cakes I can't have one and leave them I keep going so these snacks have really helped when I want a treat.

I'm on 1200 kcal on mfp too. I'm trying to avoid carbs. Today for breakfast I've had one dry fried egg, 2 bacon medallions, 1 tomato, lunch was a medium plate of lettuce with tomato & cucumber & a portion of baked trout. Dinner was a low cal cauliflower & chickpea curry with poppadoms. Pudding will be tinned peaches and 0% fat total yoghurt. I don't eat snacks.

I would try and eat bigger meals of low calorie elements, you feel like you've been eating for ages but as it's only lettuce it's v low calorie. The problem with low cal packet snacks is they are gone in two bites!

I struggled on week 1 as I was so hungry but I feel fine now and full of energy. Weigh day for me tomorrow.

Hi.
I have a big party in 8 weeks.
I'm 20lbs overweight.
I've tried low carb and its not sustainable for me long term (but it does work if you can do it!)
So I'm going to use carb counter (it's like mfp) to calorie count.
Its given me a 1038 cals per day target to lose the weight.
I've never calorie counted before so I have questions!
I'm assuming you count milk in drinks? (I don't have many)
I'm still going to have treats but count them.
I know I won't lose the 20lbs in the 8 weeks but 10lbs would be great.
Any tips?

Yes count milk, I use about 109-150mls semi skimmed for my tea / coffee - just keep logging and you will lose weight, if you exercise don’t eat the calories you’ve burnt, if you have a bad day forget it and move on.
I have just started MFP again, 3 years ago I lost almost 3st in 8 months. It works if you don’t quit.

You're doing amazing.

Remember your low calorie snacks :

Hard-boiled eggs
Cottage cheese
Veg sticks and hummus
Apples
Stewed fruit
Greek yogurt
Homemade lentil and veg soup
