Aiming to lose two stone in total, but am going to set myself smaller goals. So half a stone before I go to a wedding at the end of March.

I'll be calorie-counting, roughly 1500 a day. I usually burn about 2200, so even on a bad day if I don't go over that I won't be too disappointed.

Anyone fancy a bit of mutual support?

I would like to do this journey with you x

macmacaroon · 03/02/2019 22:24

I would ! I need to lose 2 stone too. What's your plan?

bella1426 · 04/02/2019 04:21

Me please! I've 2 stone of baby weight to lose and need some motivation! Already lost 1.5 st stone but it's stalled now so need a kick up the bum. Going to plan and track everything on MFP and aim for half a stone a month. How did you calculate your calorie allowance? I'm 5ft 6 and 12 stone so wondering what I need to aim for, was thinking prob around 1500 too. Am on maternity leave and v active, always on my feet, out for walks etc. February...let's do this!

TheMagiciansNiece · 05/02/2019 12:21

Yay! Thanks for joining me. I'm 12.8 and 5'6 so 2 stone off would be brilliant.

I started well yesterday, stuck to my 1500 calorie limit and did Wii Fit (because it was too cold to exercise outside Smile).

Today, I got up earlier than usual and did half an hour on the treadmill. I have a Fitbit and am aiming to do at least 12000 steps per day, which would mean I burn off around 2200 calories.

How's everyone else doing?

I'm aiming to burn 2500 per day if possible (lots of walking with the buggy if it's not raining) also doing some weight training, been working with a PT in the gym who has some home workouts also planned for me. Just did today's workout with him and planning a 30 min run this evening while hanging around for my son at one of his evening activities I drop him to. Am 12 st 1 and 5 ft 6. Aiming to be closer to 11 st 7 by the end of the month

Food plan for the day

B - mini pitta with laughing cow light cheese, 2 x turkey sausages and 1 poached egg. Cappuccino sachet - 400 cals approx

L - 3 x ryvita with 2 x LC light cheese, small tin of tuna and cucumber slices. Small bowl homemade veg soup - 300 cals approx

D - Birds eye bbq chicken chargrill with roasted veggies and mixed leaves and 50g sweet potato fries - 400 cals approx

400 cals remaining for snacks - Apple, choc biscuit, milk for tea and coffee

Hi everyone, so pleased im sticking to my calories ,I've downloaded the lose it app and I think it's brilliant ,you can log all your food on your phone ,as well as lots of other things ,you can scan the item if it's not listed ,helps me keep track ,you can list your exercise and it gives you extra calories for the activity you have done from the drop down list , although my calories allowance is only 1239 it is sufficient with carefull planning ,I have 2st 7lb to lose.also lose it app .. it's free ,good luck on your journey everyone x

Jojotilly · 05/02/2019 16:35

Forgot to say you put your weight and height etc.. once you've downloaded the lose it app and it will tell you how many calories you are allowed per day.

macmacaroon · 05/02/2019 18:01

I'm still in the "I'll start tomorrow" phase but motivated by all these posts - thanks ladies!

Jojotilly · 05/02/2019 19:05

Hi ,it is so hard to be motivated ,my weight has been up and down all my life ,I think if only I was thinner I'd be happier ,it's true losing a few pounds makes your clothes look better ,but not always happier in your head , if you know what I mean .. but it's my health is worry about , I need to keep trying it is so hard , not easy at all x

lulurosebud · 06/02/2019 10:01

Hi there,

Would love to join! I have Christmas weight to loose lol
I need something that will keep me motivated, and I think that a group is what can make the difference :)
How are you girls keeping track of what you eat, burn, etc?

bella1426 · 06/02/2019 15:55

I'm using my fitness pal to track calories and sticking to 1500 per day. Using my fitbit to calculate calories burned and am aiming for 2500 per day. Been tracking well for a few days now and hitting these targets and 2lbs down ! I definitely need to track, my guesstimations on stuff is all over the place. I find tracking in advance helps with making sure I have some calorie allowances for something like a small low cal bar of choc with tea in the afternoon and a low fat hot choc before bed helps me feel not deprived. Last weekend I did a big tray of roast veggies which I've been eating in wraps and with grilled chicken. Small bowl of veg soup with lunch helps me fill up too

Hi everyone,

I’m a bit late to the party but can I join in please? I just booked a holiday for the end of June so I have a target to aim for - my daughter is 18 and looking stunning, I am feeling old, fat and frumpy so rather than feeling sorry for myself I’m going to kick myself up the bum and do something.

I’m very overweight, weighed this morning and 107.4kg (16st 12). I gained 20kg while supporting my daughter through an eating disorder (she gained 20kg too, but she needed to, she’s in a size 6 now..). I haven’t felt able to do anything about it until now for fear of triggering something in her, but she’s in a good place now so I feel more able to focus on myself a bit. I’d like to be about 14st 7 (92.3kg) by the time we go away - ideally 90kg but that’s a bit of a stretch. Anyway, I have 20 weeks, to lose 15kg would be just over 1.5lb a week which should be achievable.

I wore my Fitbit last week which tells me that I burned 2500cals/day on average but I had a busy week at work so didnt walk as much as usual, and haven’t got to the gym. I worked my BMR out as 1800 cals/day on an online calculator.

Plan

  • 1800 cals/day during the week but don’t beat myself up if I go over that at weekends, as long as I don’t go over my calories burned on my Fitbit at weekends
  • increase steps to 10,000/day consistently a at the moment I have some really high step days and some really low and get into the gym at least twice a week

Does this sound reasonable? I’m planning to track my calories on the Fitbit app because it gives you lots of funky graphs and I’m a bit of a geek! I’m also intentionally not starting on a Monday. My husband works away during the week but is home at weekends, so we tend to eat and drink more at weekends

Jojotilly · 07/02/2019 20:50

You are beautiful and don't you forget it .. losing weight is the hardest thing ever we are human beings we have a lot to deal with and don't ever forget it enjoy your time with your husband eat drink and be your self at the weekend, when he is away just try and stick to your calorie allowance .so pleased your daughter is in a good place ,you can do this believe in yourself , good luck I realy mean that x

Nothinglefttochoose · 12/02/2019 05:07

I’m a bit late but can I join?
