New to MFP and no weight loss

I've scanned, weighed and logged religiously for a week. Stuck to 1200 calories including lots of exercise and lost absolutely zero.
No booze, no chocolate, no puddings.
I'm 52 and menopausal but it's not really an excuse.
I could reduce my calorie intake more but if I get super hungry I'm much more likely to start on the biscuits.

Can anyone give me pointers to where I'm going wrong?

Soonbespring, don't give up! I was just the same in week one then lost 4 pounds in week 2. It's like my body panicked and held on to the weight before giving in.

Yeah, your empty fat cells can fill up with water and make it look like you haven't lost anything, then eventually they release and you lose several pounds over night-2 days. This always happens to me once I'm a couple of weeks into a diet, never the first week though. Are you sure you are logging everything correctly? Not miscalculating?

I agree with what has been said above, plus, when reducing your calorie intake and working out your body thinks "wait, she isn't giving me as much as usual, we're going to lack fuel, let's stock up", but once your body gets used to your new diet you will loose weight :)

Thanks all.
I gave up on it last week and succumbed to a weekend of feasting but today is day one again.
So glad it's not just me.

I'm the same and its been several weeks and scales not budged even 1lb
I'm not underestimating my calories however i am exercising a lot.
hormone imbalance/age play a factor im sure
i need to move awa from the scales and focus on being heathy but its hard
seeing a certain number on the scales makes me happy! and the current number doesnt!
I need to lose about 10lb to be back to where i was last summer

I have just discovered that some of the calories listed are not accurate.
I make a treat with certain ingredients and it was listed as 80 cals per portion. I have been happily munching one each day.
Today I finally got around to entering the ingredients into my recipes only to discover it is actually 277 cals per portion!

I'm back on MFP from yesterday.

I'm ill. I'm tired. I don't feel right. So hoping this will help me feel more me.

I'm mid 30s I shouldn't be this tired?!

Want to buddy up?

fishonabicycle · 15/04/2019 11:35

Just remember - don't give up if you don't see much movement in the first week or so, or if your weight goes up a bit as well as down some days - weight loss isn't linear.

Need to find my mojo!
