Anyone with limited exercise options calorie counting to lose weight for health reasons?

Hi. I started this week on my calorie counting mission. I'm doing it primarily for medical reasons, and this sometimes restricts my mobility.

I was chuffed at having done 30 minute walks, put it on the message board to see someone having done long runs etc. Made me feel a bit judged, wrongly as no-one said anything negative, as I physically can't do that through no fault of my own.

Anyone else in the same boat? I was 16.01 stone Thursday, aiming for 12ish stone long term. Using mfp and hoping to get there in the end.

Anyone doing it primarily for health, and has limited exercise options? I thought could encourage each other.

Hi I'm very overweight and now on a low calorie diet , I can't do a load of physical exercise partly due to an old injury and mostly due to being so unfit lugging extra me around , so yes I see a walk as better than no walk and hoping to build up what I'm doing over time as I get fitter and as the weight I'm carrying reduces and makes it easier

Exactly. Everything helps when you have limited capacity for exercise, whatever the reason. It's tough, and I don't particularly look like I have any issues on a good day, so feel like people just think I'm lazy etc. I'm going to try and stop thinking about what people think, and do what I can to hopefully reduce joint pain. Every lb should help.

How long have you been dieting for? X
