How can I stop myself feeling so miserable about losing weight

So I’m on an extreme diet right now. I am only eating breakfast ( porridge and fruit mixed in) and i have no lunch and for dinner at night I sometimes have soup but not every night. I know this is extreme starving myself but my body just won’t lose weight eating normal meals even cutting portion size. I had a baby 16 months ago and I breastfed for 15 of them months so now I want to lose weight but if I don’t do it this way I won’t lose any weight. I feel so miserable seeing my husband and kids eat nice home cooked food and I’m just there with a cup of tea! Anyone else who has a body that just won’t lose weight without starving themselves?

@darkcloudlooming

What are you doing to yourself!

If I told you there was another way where you didn’t have to cut calories, that cutting calories actually doesn’t work long term would you be interested in knowing how?

Hi download my fitness pal it's brilliant for calorie counting I lost 3 stone after my son was born in a year and I didn't starve myself..u set the amount of calories you choose to eat e.g 1500 then document EVERYTHING even alcohol this involves googling things but it's worth it it really makes u aware of how many calories are in everyday foods I've kept the weight off too

Come and visit the low carb high fat boards, bootcamp, you can lose weight without starving yourself. I wouldn't have believed it either as nothing has ever worked for me before.

RandomMess · 15/10/2017 17:47

You won't lose weight by starving yourself!!!

Yes you need a deficit of calories but that is so extreme...

No/very low carb may work for you
Low fat may work for you

But what you are doing is sending your body into starvation panic!

@darkcloudlooming and @RaininSummer

Here’s why it ain’t about the calories

PurpleDaisies · 15/10/2017 17:49

The way you're losing weight is really unhealthy and totally unsustainable.

You're much better eating a healthy diet with lots of veg, lean protein and measured carbs which will be a slower but more long term way to lose weight.

drinkerella · 15/10/2017 17:50

If you starve yourself then you'll end up binging.

OliviaD68 · 15/10/2017 17:55

@PurpleDaisies and @drinkerella

Completely.

The nonsense advice people come up with for people to lose weight is just silly.

Launderetta · 15/10/2017 17:57

darkcloud you are going to damage your body so much doing this, please stop. This level of nutritional deprivation is so bad for you - your metabolism needs much more support than you are giving it. Losing weight isn't worth the price you'll pay.
Please look at the boards on here as PPs have suggested.
