I need to lose 6 stone

I need help with food, exercise and motivation. I have a desk job and no time for anything outside the home i.e. walking, running or gym. Any suggestions are most appreciated

I can only recommend myfitnesspal, or anything that involves writing down exactly what you really eat.

I find exercise really helps me overall but what you eat is what counts. If you can add some exercise into your commute that can help (I'm lucky enough to cycle to work). I've lost 2.5 stone so far, it's really helped to work 2 or 3 kg at a time.

Thanks Annandale. I will start writing everything down. I am ok eating at work. It's when I come home that it becomes a problem.

No chance of getting any exercise on the way to work as it's too far so I need to drive.

Can you park 10 minutes away from work and walk the last 10 minutes? Then as you get fitter walk a bit further?
There is always a way.

I can't do that either as driving straight to work gets me there on time after I drop kids off at school. It's the same going home. No time to deviate, I have to go and pick the kids up. I need something to do in the house really.

It sounds meticulous, but, portion sizes really do count. Cut out anything you don't make yourself, and then weigh out portions. For example, 25g of pasta, 15g lowered fat cheese. Cut everything to low fat, eg low fat spread, full skimmed milk etc all these little things really make a difference! When you're at home, have you tried walking up and down the stairs a lot? Like stepercise type stuff, or doing abdominal crunches etc?

I lost over 6st on Slimming World easily.
Could you go for a walk during your lunch break?

Look up UnsupersizeMe on Facebook. Check her out she's amazing.

The great thing about myfitnesspal or writing stuff down is you can decide where you want to go low fat and where you don't. I tend to have low carb for breakfast and dinner, which means nice buttery scrambled egg and proper salad dressing, and low fat for tea. I don't believe any of the special body chemistry stuff, I'm strictly a calories in calories out girl.

I've never got much out of exercise dvds or you tube exercise but I know others swear by them. What about a mini trampoline?

30 day shred? You can get it online really cheaply and it works. 25 mins ish

bettyboop1000 · 22/07/2017 08:42

Thank you all. I started using my fitness pal and weighing my food. I also stopped snacking except for yesterday when I felt ravenous. I hve lost 7lbs so I am really happy. I know i should lose 1-2lbs a week but this has really boosted my confidence and has made me think I CAN do this.

I haven't started exercising yet. I will maybe try in a few weeks.

If you're on Facebook there's a group called #TeamACF bikini academy. It's a PT who's all about eating whatever foods you want as long as it fits your macros? Really supportive page full of ideas and inspirational people 😊

Have you had a look at online fitness videos? I tried Joe Wicks beginners HIIT on YouTube. It was about 30 mins all in. Knackered me out though, haven't found the motivation to try again.

I've found combining slimming world,5/2 and calorie counting to work 😊 Boring but works 💥💥
