Stop me stress/comfort eating please...

I lost 4 kg on MFP over a couple of months, two stressful weeks at work and I have put 2 back on.

I know exactly how it happens, late night snacking mainly, often while at work or trying to work from home. It was exactly the same when I was writing up my PhD. How can I stop doing this?

It has been suggested to me I get in to a class like weight watchers/slimming world but little appeals less...

Any tips or tricks?

Up your water intake

hardboiled eggs are your friend

I've been thinking about this recently. Lost 3 stone ish due to illness/meds but as I'm gettin more used to it, and can't exercise, I've put probably a stone back on and am overweight again. Sigh. I'm desperate to be able to run in the fresh air too.

Mine is snacking through boredom/comfort eating. I actually signed up to MFP at the weekend!

I am trying to drink more water and eat healthy stuff when I snack, like fruit. The trouble is i like savoury stuff, pretzels, twiglets, cheese etc.

Will watch with interest. You're not alone!

Thanks for the suggestions ladies.
The water intake thing definitely seems to be helping - I'm not very good at drinking it but havign a glass in front of me the whole time (and not coffee/tea) seems to encourage me to drink more during the day.
As a plus I feel much less tired at my desk when I've had lots of water.
I'm still rather stressed at work but I've brought in some nice healthy snacks to try and divert myself away from the biscuits and sweets when I'm working late.

Track your water on MFP too? I aim for 2lt of water and only count plain water or with lemon slices.

Long term, I think you have to deal with the fact that you eat for emotional comfort Sad and find a more healthy way to deal with the emotions.

How's it going?

I have lost 3lb (old money, sorry!) this week but it has been hard

I have been trying to snack on fruit and reduce my meal sizes so the snack calories "even out" a bit more.

What healthy snacks are you having? I read on here that frozen grapes are good but havent tried it yet.

I tried frozen raspberries a couple of days ago.

I don't recommend it.
