Hi there,

So as the subject title suggests I'm all signed up and ready to go. 100lb goal and a year to do it in (according to Fitbit). So this time next year I'll be buying myself a whole new wardrobe in the sales.

Anyone else on here losing weight and getting healthy in this way? Any hints and tips?

Also considering couch to 5k though I imagine I'd be walking slowly and not so slowly at first as opposed to running. . .

Thoughts guys?

I'm nearly 6 weeks in and down a stone with my fitbit and MFP. It's great. I'm starting from a high point (started at 226, now 210, goal 154) so not too dissimilar from you I'm guessing! I started with a month of walking my 10,000 steps a day to help get my basic fitness up, and so it wouldn't be as big as shock when I started doing couch 2 5k again (have done it a few times but have ended up stopping running for a while due to injury/pushing it too hard). I'm now 2 weeks into the running and really feeling like the walking first was a good move!

Best of luck - hope it goes great. Just remember not to eat/drink aaaaall your MFP exercise calories (I steadily lose when I eat about half of them, but stall if I go higher than that).
