Going to Aldi today - any suggestions on healthy food I should buy to help me lose weight?

I saw on the advert that their crackers are nice - are they low calorie? What would you put on them?

I'm also going to look at the mixed nuts etc.

What else?

If you want to lose weight stay away from the crackers and nuts and buy the fresh veg, salad and meats. Get some cheese as well and get yourself onto biwi's thread.

Plenty fresh veg, a bit of fruit.
They do nice lean steaks, I like them too.

Crackers aren't going to do anything for you.
Raw Nuts, a little handful if you need a munch not salted or roasted nuts.

Salmon fillets

Lots of salad and veg

Chicken

Eggs

I thought crackers might help combat the evening snack craving I too often give into?

I don't like any sort of fish.

Is cheese really ok? Do you mean to put on salads?

It's lunch ideas I'm struggling with mainly. And not eating in the evenings.

I bought some rocket yesterday. Always great in salads, and sandwiches.

They also had melon on special yesterday.

Fruit and veg
Protein (not too much cheese and dairy though - Greek yoghurt is good)

Don't buy and low fat/fat free diet stuff.

If you want a treat at night a bowl of strawberries with Greek yoghurt with vanilla essence mixed through it is nice.

Let's put it this way, I am having to diet now because of Aldi's rosemary and sea salt crackers Wink Stay away from the carbs, cheese or meat or hard boiled eggs will not make you put on weight. My favourite snack is small cubes of cheddar with pickled onions.

Fat doesn't make you fat though, carbs do.

Their little boxes of sugar free sweets are handy if you really crave something sweet. Lots of varieties, fruit drops, butterscotch, mints, strawberries & cream, but all hard sweets so you can suck one for ages.

They do a lovely cream cheese that you can spread in a celery stick if you want something savoury & crunchy in the evening.
