Good family recipes for suppers? Low calorie and fat of course! I always cook from scratch, and here are a few of the things I cook for myself, my dh and my 2 yr old ds:-
Ham & butter bean soup/casserole
Lentil & spinach dhal
Red Thai chicken curry
Arrabiatta pasta with extra veggies
Cottage pie
Moules mariniere
Coq au vin
Baked potato

.......
Any ideas greatly appreciated!! Xx

Hello :) the bbc good food guide is quite good for low fat/low cal recipes. I made their skinny spinach and ricotta lasagne the other night. If you google bbc skinny lasagne it'll probably take you right there.

Ooh that sounds nice, I will have a look! My ds loves pasta of any kind so that sounds like a winner, thanks!

I've used the Hairy Dieters book a lot - chicken korma, chicken and ham tangle pie, chilli con carne have gone down especially well. Think some of them are available online so you don't necessarily have to buy the books.

Oh yes, I had forgotten about them. I watched some of the programme and really like it! Thanks for reminding me! X

Yep we use Hairy Dieters a lot, also some Jamie Oliver recipes particularly the veggie ones. All have nutritional information on the website.

Also have a 'cook yourself thin' recipe book from a tv program that was on a few years ago, Gizzi Erskine was one of the authors/presenters which is very good.

Use the slow cooker a fair bit too as can just use meat and veg without extra fat and like to batch cook and freeze ahead for busy evenings.

My sister text me this , I've tried them and they're lovely. I'm going to make some next week to go with salad.Bean burgers......
400g spuds, 2 x 400g tins kidney beans rinsed, 2 tsp cajun spice, handful fresh coriander chopped, 1 egg beaten, salt and pepper. Boil spuds til just tender, mash and leave to cool. Crush kidney beans, add everything to cooled potatoes, mix and shape into burgers. Grill until brown.
